Our Commitment

Established in 2010 in support of people not benefitting from economic growth in Africa.

Nos Vies en Partage (loosely translated as ‘Sharing Prosperity’) was established in 2010, borne out of an initiative by then-CEO of Randgold Resources, Mark Bristow, and the company’s senior geologists, with the primary objective of raising funds in support of people, particularly women and children, not benefitting from economic growth in Africa.

In 2013 the Nos Vies en Partage Foundation was established.

Between 2012 and 2016 Mark Bristow and his team embarked on a number of fund-raising motorbike safaris around and across Africa, supported by the company’s partners committed to the cause. The significant funds raised were donated to orphanages, hospitals, mission stations and other less advantaged communities in the host countries in which we operate.

Following the merger between Barrick Gold Corporation and Randgold Resources in 2019 we have decided to continue our journey for a better Africa for all — returning to our Nos Vies en Partage initiative.

With the help and generosity of our partners, we continue to support those left behind by society. We firmly believe in the power of partnerships, and we welcome the opportunity to discuss with companies and organisations about working in partnership to contribute to Nos Vies en Partage’s initiatives in Africa.

Nos Vies en Partage is operated by Barrick and is separate from Barrick’s own sustainable and charitable projects.
